Well, they did shut off my powers, it makes it a little more inconvenient to simply slip in and out.

I would much prefer being myself. I haven't slept this much in nearly two-hundred years!

I need to do very little, I'm immortal!

I know, but I didn't realize that immortality came with so little maintenance!

I'm...unique. I'm not precisely human, most of the time. It means human needs left me, and continue to leave me, as my power grows.

When do you expect to be free of your incarceration?

Quite so. I'm sure, someday, they'll recognize precisely how fortunate they are. I'm no Lucifer, but I've encapsulated an entire city before -- twice!

If that's the case, then how did you get caught?

I let them, of course!

It's not very encouraging for heroes to fight a foe that outclasses them that much, and I want them to fight me again.

But you could have easily escaped and fought them later! Why be imprisoned in the meantime?

Because this way they get a sense of victory! They will take that, and become better heroes.

If they don't think they can defeat me, I won't be able to coerce them into fighting me later.

It sounds rather like a cross between training and playtime.

Perhaps, perhaps. There are some incidents only heroes can deal with, and if they haven't faced it, I'd hate to be the only one left. That would be quite boring.

Surely that wouldn't be the case in a city full of people with superpowers?

I don't want just any superhero! I can't expect them to come back if I don't play along.
