[ And two seconds later, he's there -- at the park -- stepping out of a shadow. He tapped a cane on the ground, and strode closer, after a few more pops in and out of the shadows, until he found Wally.
He was only faster because teleportation existed, honestly. ]
[KF had just zoomed right over to the park before he'd even texted Shade back, just because he's pretty sure inviting the guy into his house would piss a couple people off. Instead he's sitting in the park, lease folded up in between his hands and tapping his feet nervously against the sidewalk next to the bench.
Shade showing up as he does is just as creepy as Wally thought it would be, but he just stands up and fishes a pen out of his pocket.]
Yyyep. [god it's weird having a conversation with the shade, it will never stop being weird. WHAT DOES HE EVEN TALK ABOUT, THE WEATHER?] Ssso. How about them 'noles, huh? Bet they won a game...thing. Whatever they play. [dear god]
[ He asked, a touch curiously. Shade was a master at smalltalk, but not when he was faced with a young flash who spoke a million miles a minute. He reached out for the pen, and held it for a few, while he felt the weight in his hand. ]
Never mind, may I have your lease? Let's take a look at this thing, before we sign it, yes?
[ He held out his hand, to ask for it, before he started to skim it over. ]
[Wally shifts his weight awkwardly when the Shade flaps out the lease and begins reading through it. He glances around the park, cracks his knuckles, whistles. Sniffs and shoves his hands into his pockets.
Lllleeeeans over to read the lease out of the corner of his eye.
Looks away.
...leans over again. Shuffles a little closer to Shade and reads.] Ssso I talked to the landlord, and he said it was okay if we paid in cash. Like, apparently he'd housed teenage runaways before, and said that all he needs is an adult's name on the lease, someone with good credit. But like, that if we miss payments you'd be the one to get in trouble, but it's not like you won't know where we live so if we skip out you can find us. But we're not gonna! We're not gonna skip out. We just...need your name on there, that's all. We'll take care of everything else, I swear.
[ Shade did everything in his power not to get distracted by the hyperactivity of a speedster, his movements every now and then coming into his vision.
But even so, he still caught sight of Wally, and eventually, only halfway through, he had to nod.
It was the standard language, and a skim didn't show anything too revealing. After all, what would they do, if Wally broke it? Put him in jail? ]
Well, as long as good credit constitutes as no credit, we should be just fine, yes?
[ He looked at the pen, hoisting it in his hands, before he rolled it between two fingers. ]
The stipulation is, you do not tell other people my real name, yes?
Yup! [Wally grabs the lease and eagerly looks it over.] This is all I needed. Seriously, thank you so much, this means a lot to me. [He turns to leave before- oh, yes.
He pauses, digs a picture out of his pocket and hands the Shade a picture of a rare first-edition print of Moby Dick in what might be an old cellar or warehouse. It's in a glass case at least, to protect it from the elements. It's also surrounded by lights and mirrors on all sides as well as below, leaving the area virtually free of shadows.]
Found this at the flea market the other day. I don't think the guy knew what it was worth, because he let go of it for like forty bucks. [Considering he also tried to sell Wally a busted smartphone for three hundred dollars, he doesn't feel too bad for taking advantage of the deal.]
It's in De Chima somewhere, but I won't tell you where. I'm gonna be running security detail around it for the next week until I move it to another location. No more location clues after it gets moved.
I also called in a few favors and had Robin set up a few security measures to protect it from theft. ["A few" meaning "a fuckton" considering he's a Bat and all.] Have fun!
Yeah, well I'm quite the hero! [Not his best comeback, but the guy was disappearing.] So freakin' dramatic, [Wally murmurs with a smile, eyes darting between the late evening shadows before he folds the lease back up and jogs out of the park and back for home.]

[ He said, before signing in rather elaborate script -- 'Richard Swift' it says.
Congratulations, Wally, you're in a pretty tight club now. Nobody knows his name. ]
And there we are! That will suffice, yes?

I'm quite the thief, you know!
[ But his laugh wasn't mocking -- it was excited, like he thought this was downright fun. ]
