Shade appears moments later, with absinthe, stepping out of the shadows, wherever dorian's at, even if it's his room. Like some kind of spectre, he waves the bottle a little jauntily. ]
[ Dorian's had a terrible few days and is just staring at his reformed hand and isn't paying any attention to anything else. That's why when Shade steps out of the shadows, it scares Dorian enough that he falls straight off his bed. ]
Christ, you could give a guy a heart attack. [ It's said in a joking tone, though. After all, it's his own fault for not paying attention enough. ]
[ Shade loved scaring people. This was a better response than jumping in when someone was...otherwise occupied.
Also something he'd done before. Unfortunately.
Shade waggled the bottle, before offering a hand to help Dorian get up, his smile said quite enough about how much he cared about scaring people -- not at all -- and how much he enjoyed it -- immensely. ]
Yes, well, I think that's happened a time or two. Did I tell you about how I got a house back in the City?
[ A laugh, before he reached back into the shadows, coming back out with two glasses. Yes, Shade really was that sort of asshole who pulled his drinks out of thin air because he could. ]
Well then, sit, and I'll tell you a story. [ He poured the glasses, carefully. ]
You see, it used to belong to a drug dealer. Owned a rather nice operation, very wealthy. [ He finally handed him a glass, and drank from his own. ]
I made him promise to write me into his will, lest I set my shadows upon him.
[ Shade you massive asshole. Still, Dorian can't help but grin slightly as he pulls drinks out of thin air because okay, that's kind of cool. He sits on the edge of the bed, listening as Shade carefully starts to pour the drinks.
As he's handed a glass, Dorian can't help but to stifle a small laugh. ] And let me guess, the drug dealer met with an unfortunate accident as soon as the will was completed?
From what I saw, it was a bit touch and go. I never did such things back there, obviously. But people...were mistrustful of imports, and for good reason, I think. We were often creating trouble on a much larger scale than we do here.

Drinks, then? Would you want me to stop by? I have a rather nice bottle of absinthe we could share.

[ Shade sipped at his drink mildly, something amused in his expression. ]
It seemed he had a fear of bugs, and then all the sudden, he thought he was swarmed with them!
Why, how could I have guessed that he would have a heart attack?

The wine collection, however, was sublime. He had good taste.
[ This? This was why they were friends, of course. They were both just wicked enough to enjoy it. ]

It was at least a touch removed from the rest of the City.

They wanted to prove to some natives that they were trustworthy and normal like them, so they... defeated me in public.
It was fun!
